By leveraging our venture builder model, our Entrepreneur in Residence (EiR) program is an opportunity for you to co-create and co-found your own startup with us from scratch. If you already have your startup launched but it has not been funded yet, you can also apply to this program and we will help you grow and scale-up your business.

What we offer

Co-creation

We offer a methodological approach to business problem selection, opportunity validation, funding and go-to-market strategy.
During our 4-month EiR program, you’ll get a monthly compensation to work on your idea (€40k yearly salary – pro-rata).

Co-founding

We provide our capital, experience, methodology, core resources to reduce entrepreneurial risk and make our ventures successful.
At the spin-out phase we will be acting as anchor investors. Majority of the ownership will be kept by entrepreneurial team.

Ecosystem

We offer our extensive network to reduce entrepreneurial risk and make our ventures successful. You will get access to industrial partners, advisors, investors as well as talent, marketing, sales and legal partners.

02 Admission and onboarding

We evaluate each submission based on several factors with emphasys on your entrepreneur talent and background. We also evaluate how well the idea fits in our venture builder’s scope, how it guides an industry problem, a preliminary analysis of viability and the overall quality of work.

If we find it interesting we conduct an interview with the candidate to check his/her ability and personality as a prospective founder and to understand in more detail the business case.

03 Idea / opportunity validation

Congratulations ! you have been admitted in our EiR program. During 2 months (4 sprints) we will work with you to:

Conduct a market research around the idea, including market positioning map, ecosystem mapping and customer profiles.

Define the problem, the opportunity, market-fit and value proposition.

Define the business model and high-level product solution based on feedback received from potential customers and/or industry experts.

04 Business validation

If the phase 3 is successfully validated the EiR will work on the business validation during 2 months (4 sprints) to:

05 Spin-out and formation

Congratulations ! You are now CEO of your own start-up. In this phase we will help you to recruit and establish a core team, the first version of the product, the initial customers, and a legal entity.

We provide pre-seed formation capital up to 300K€ potentially including a strategic co-founder from our network of industrial partners.

With the foundation of the company, the CEO and C-level team will keep majority ownership (up to 70%) to allow VSOP options for future employees.

06 Grow and scale-up

During this phase 5G Ventures will be involved in business design, internationalization, legal assistance, product management and marketing.

Our network of corporate partners and ecosystem will offer the start-up access to key decision-makers and expert recommendations and business opportunities to reach the market. We will also help the start-up to get access to funding opportunities.

FAQs

No, you will be working remotely and online with our team during the EiR program. You will need to be in Barcelona for the spin-out and formation phase in case the opportunity is approved after the EiR program.

Your profile will be added (if you’d like) to our co-founder pool and you will be notified if a new opportunity opens up.

Yes, we can evaluate it although it is not our preference.
